The title of this moving documentary takes its name from the life-size photo-realistic cardboard cutouts that military families employ to ease the hard reality of overseas deployments. Four families are profiled over the course of a year exploring the impact of war on those left behind.
The film premiered at DOC NYC in 2011. The score is chamber music based with nods to Tin Hat throughout. I worked with some great latin percussionists on this one as well.
