Orthodox Stance is the biopic of Dmitry Salita, a 25 year-old Russian immigrant making history as a top professional boxer and rigorously observant Jew. The film profiles the intersection of two seemingly disparate worlds–that of Orthodox Judaism and professional boxing, and the remarkable young man able to inhabit them both.
My soundtrack draws from traditional Jewish music, and I employ varied percussion and prepared piano in accompanying the fight scenes. Strings, winds, guitar, and accordion are featured as well.
Orthodox Stance is one of several films I’ve scored for New York based director Jason Hutt.
